Sastojci: 18 g kakao putera, 13 g šea putera, 10 ml jojoba ulja, 5 g kandelila voska, 4,5 g vitamina E ulja, prstohvat mika praha.
Priprema:
1. U manju staklenu ili metalnu posudu staviti kakao puter, šea puter i kandelila vosak.
5. Dodati jojoba ulje i vitamin E ulje. Dobro promešati.
4. Kada se osnovna smesa (kakao puter, šea puter i vosak) malo prohladi i dodaš jojoba i vitamin E, stavi pastu od mike.
- nema grudvica
- boja bude mnogo ravnomernija i intenzivnija
- pigment se ne taloži na dnu kalupa.
Koliko mika praha da stavim?
Količina mika praha zavisi od toga kakav efekat želiš:
1. Blagi sjaj (balzam za usne)
- Koristi prstohvat mika praha (oko 0,05–0,1 g).
2. Srednji sjaj (balzam u boji)
- Koristi oko 0,2–0,3 g mika praha.
- Balzam će dati laganu boju i lep sjaj.
3. Jači balzam (jače obojen balzam)
- Koristi 0,4–0,6 g mika praha.
- Pigment će biti izraženiji i sjaj vidljiviji.
Napomena:
3. Znakovi da proizvod više nije dobar:
- promena mirisa (užegao miris)
- promena boje
- promena teksture
Ingredients: 18 g of cocoa butter, 13 g of shea butter, 10 ml of jojoba oil, 5 g of candelilla wax, 4.5 g of vitamin E oil, a pinch of mica powder.
Preparation:
1. Place cocoa butter, shea butter and candelilla wax in a small glass or metal container.
2. Place the bowl over a pan of hot water (water bath) and gently heat until all the ingredients are completely dissolved. Stir occasionally to dissolve the mixture evenly.
3. When everything is melted, remove from heat.
4. Wait about 1–2 minutes for the temperature to drop a little. The mixture should still be runny, but not very hot.
5. Add jojoba oil and vitamin E oil. Mix well.
6. Add mica powder* and mix until the color is evenly distributed in the mixture.
7. While the mixture is still liquid, pour it into a small jar or balm stick.
8. Leave at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 30-60 minutes to set completely.
A note on mica powder
The trick to keep mica powder from clumping in balms:
1. Put mica powder in a small bowl.
2. Add a few drops of jojoba oil (of the 10 ml from the recipe).
3. Mix well with a toothpick or a small spoon until you get a smooth paste without lumps.
4. When the basic mixture (cocoa butter, shea butter and wax) cools down a bit and you add jojoba and vitamin E, add the mica paste.
5. Mix for about 20-30 seconds to distribute the color completely evenly.
Why does this help?
- mica is first "moistened" with oil
- no lumps
- the color will be much more even and intense
- the pigment does not settle at the bottom of the mold.
How much mica powder should I put in?
The amount of mica powder depends on the effect you want:
1. Mild gloss (lip balm)
- Use a pinch of mica powder (about 0.05–0.1 g).
- The color will be very mild, and only a discreet shine will be visible on the lips.
2. Medium shine (color balm)
- Uses about 0.2–0.3 g of mica powder.
- The balm will give light color and a nice shine.
3. Stronger balm (stronger colored balm)
- Uses 0.4–0.6 g of mica powder.
- The pigment will be more pronounced and the shine more visible.
Note:
If you add too much mica powder, the balm can become grainy or too hard, so it's better to start with a smaller amount and add a little more as needed.
What is each ingredient for?
Shelf life of the lip balm:
1. Since the recipe does not contain water, the product has a relatively long shelf life.
2. Average shelf life: 9–12 months. It depends on the quality of the oil and the way it is stored. Vitamin E helps oils to go rancid more slowly.
3. Signs that the product is no longer good:
- change in smell (rancid smell)
- color change
- change of texture
How to store lip balm?
- Store in a dry and dark place. The ideal temperature is 15–25 °C
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat.
- If the weather is very hot, it can be stored in the refrigerator so that it does not melt.
- Since it contains butters, it may soften or partially melt at high temperatures, but will harden again when cooled.
